Childhood Story
During my childhood years, there were a lot of stories that were important to me. But one story that really impacted me was the "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn. When I was younger, I used to fear going to school and being without my mom. I never wanted to get dropped off at school. My step mom would read me this book just about every night. This story is about two raccoons, a mother and her son, Chester. Chester's fear was leaving his mother at the beginning of school everyday and so the mother would kiss his hand and whenever he felt lonely or scared he would press his hand against his cheek and remember that his mommy loves him. With such assurance, Chester is able to go off to school now. Being such a sensitive raccoon, Chester feels that his mother needs a kissing hand too! This story helped me get through school when I didn't want to go. I would have my mom kiss my hand and I would feel all better!

Technology!
Years ago the ways of communication was a bit more difficult. We have it easy now with all the new technology and gagets. People dont even have to call anyone anymore, all we have to do is text. Well, if you really think about that it can sometimes be a bad thing. Sometimes things will get taken out of context, causing conflict between two or more people. People these days now depend on their cell phones, i-pods, and the internet instead of using their personal relation skills. The internet is actually a dangerous place unless you know exactly what you are doing. Technology is a fantastic thing in my opinion but can also cause "bad news". Communication is now instant and now teenagers are so engaged with their cell phones, i-pods, and internet and think they couldn't live without them, but really they are nothing but a "toy".
